How RKD’s Software Helps Axeology, an Axe-Throwing Company, Thrive

Below is a Q&A we had the opportunity to complete with the team at Axeology, an axe-throwing company based in the Greenville, SC community, about how they use RKD’s software.

I. Getting Started & Initial Impressions

  1. How long have you been using RKD Software for your reservation
    management? I have used the software for nearly a year.
  2. What was your primary method for managing reservations and payments
    before RKD Software? What prompted you to look for a new solution? I had not
    had any prior software. This was my original choice.
  3. Can you describe your initial experience with setting up and implementing RKD
    Software? What was easy, and what was challenging? Everything about the
    process was fairly easy. I believe that for someone opening an axe throwing
    location for their first time, it may be a bit more difficult to understand all of RKD’s
    capabilities.

II. Daily Usage & Workflow

  1. Walk me through a typical day or week using RKD Software. What tasks do you
    perform most frequently? For me being able to send through the POS or manage
    our axe throwing league has been the most beneficial. I also frequently have
    manager meetings using the extensive lists of reports and find that the bar POS
    is fantastic to use.
  2. How does RKD Software fit into your overall business operations? RKD
    manages our entire business operation. Everything from booking, sales,
    merchandise, bar sales, email capture, etc…
  3. Which specific features of the Online Booking system do you find most
    valuable? Can you give an example of how they help you? I think the email
    capture with mailchimp is incredible it provides such an amazing opportunity for
    marketing. Building that database is very valuable as a business owner.
  4. Regarding Payment Processing, what aspects of the software are most
    beneficial to you? I think that the flexibility with reservations and different
    resource types is the most beneficial.
  5. Are there any tasks or processes within RKD Software that you find
    cumbersome, confusing, or time-consuming? Please describe them. I think that
    the bar POS is almost there. There are features that we really want like the toast
    feature that captures and creates a tab just by swiping or tapping a card. It will
    instantly read and input the name and pre auth. This is a MASSIVE time saver
    for a axe throwing venue like us when we are running the bar on league nights or
    busy saturdays.

III. Impact & Benefits

  1. How has RKD Software impacted the efficiency of your reservation
    management? Can you quantify this in any way (e.g., time saved, fewer errors)?
    It has significantly reduced the amount of effort that is needed when booking and
    transferring the reservation to POS allows for simple ease of use.
  2. In what ways has the software improved your customers’ experience when
    booking and paying? The easy waiver links that are sent to customers is
    incredible and most find it useful for quick check ins.
  3. Has RKD Software helped reduce no-shows or streamline your cancellation
    policies? We have a very low rate of no shows. I do wish there was a button to
    make it so no card is required to book! THIS WOULD BE INCREDIBLE.
  4. Have you seen any direct impact on your revenue or booking volume since
    implementing the software? Since this is my first software I have used I would
    say I have not. However, I do know other local axe throwing owners that do not
    use it that I know would absolutely benefit from RKD.

IV. Challenges & Improvements

  1. What’s the biggest challenge you face when using RKD Software? The ability to
    not have to require any card when booking. The ability to capture and create a
    tab with names just by tapping or swiping the card.
  2. How do you typically get support or find answers to your questions about RKD
    Software? How satisfied are you with the support you receive? I call Dan
    Ceballos. He has been an incredible support and the majority reason we have
    felt confident in our choice of RKD.

V. Overall Experience & Future

  1. How would you rate your overall satisfaction with RKD Software on a scale of 1
    to 10 (1 being very dissatisfied, 10 being very satisfied)? Why that number? 8
  2. What advice would you give to someone who is considering using RKD
    Software for their business? If you are looking for an all-in-one solution, then RKD
    is perfect for you!
